The Patrick County boys Varsity team lost a heated match at home to the visiting North Stokes Warriors 61-42 last Friday. The first quarter saw the two teams match point for point up and down the court, with the Cougars trailing by three points. However, the Warriors took a big run in the second quarter to make it 30-17.
The Cougars scored 11 straight points late in the third quarter to tie the score at 34, but the warriors rounded with a run of their own to push the lead back up to 10 points. The Cougars cut that lead in half, but got no closer.
DeAndre Reynolds led the Cougars with 20 points and Darius Hagwood added 12. The loss drops the Cougars to 0-2 for the season.
