Pictured, my aunt Katherine Hall Boyd, who is in her late 90’s and lives in Roanoke now. She was so talented and made so many beautiful things. As a little girl Aunt Katherine always let me go with her and her boyfriend (my uncle Alvy, when they would go places. I remember so many times of fun with them.

I’ve enjoyed a lot of visitors over the holidays- got lots of cards and nice gifts. It would have been nice to be home, but being at Landmark, lots of stuff going on, time goes by pretty fast- and I’m enjoying some of the activities and a lot of patients I meet.

Mary Ann called from D.C. and I got caught up on things there. Sounds like she has something interesting to read. I’ve read everything I can get my hands on here at Landmark.

I was glad that Jerry and Rhonda Morgan came and spent some quality time with me. We had a nice long visit.

I’m still amazed at the cards and letters I have received here from all over the U.S. When I go to Therapy, a lot of people know me and then it’s always good to talk to them, and hear their stories and memories.

Visitors come and go all day – a lot of them stop by to talk to me, and that makes my day go by faster. All my visitors enjoy looking at the Patrick County deck of playing cards. Thanks to Brian Ratliff and family for them.

Sure was nice that Van and Donna Rowe came by to see me. I’m enjoying the book they brought me, “Divine Revelation of Angels,” and I do believe in angels. One comforted me once.

I’m always glad when Joe Cerino comes by. It’s like a breath of fresh air. And I want to thank the Lord for all my friends who came on Sunday- Simmons Family, Duane George and Landon. I’m so blessed to have so many friends- also got a goody bag from someone. Thanks.

Still keep me in your prayers. I’m so thankful I’m free from the awful pain. Sure makes life easier.

Food for Thought: Praying brings us closer to Jesus, Praying for others in good and pleasing the sight of our Savior. Jesus honors the prayers of those who love him. Take a faith step: Join together to lift up those in need. Take time to call, text, or email prayer requests to your friends or members of your church.

1/2 cup white sugar

1/3 cup brown sugar

4 tablespoons butter

1 can milk

1 large egg

1 small box vanilla pudding

1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring

1 pie crust

Bake crust for 10 minutes. Beat potatoes until fluffy. Add other ingredients and beat again. Bake in preheated over at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Food hint – Snack on raisins. They have healthy doses of fiber, iron and vitamin C. Your sweet tooth will get a quick fix too.
