Martha Clark “Sissy” Hutchens, 88, of Stuart, VA died on Saturday July 4, 2020 at her home. She was born on February 22, 1932 in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Allie Verta Biggs and Bud Clark. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Bernard Hutchens, two sons; Lowell James Hutchens, J.B. Hutchens six brothers; Joe Clark, Clarence Clark, Dallas Clark, Marion Clark, George Clark, Russell Clark, three sisters; Annie Sue Hawks, Della Hawks and Mae Martin.
She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and retired from RJ Reynolds Hospital in Stuart and Blue Ridge Nursing Home. She was an outdoor person who enjoyed working in the garden and her flowers. She had a caring and loving heart to everyone she met.
Surviving are two sons; Elmo Hutchens (Bertha) of Spencer, VA, , Kenny Hutchens of Stuart, VA, one sister; Dorothy Mills of Spencer, VA, daughter in laws; Becky Hutchens of Greensboro, NC, Arlene Bullins of Claudeville, VA and nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The funeral will be Monday July 6, 2020 at 11:00 am at Norris Funeral Services Chapel with Ronnie Gibson officiating and Mike Hall special music.
The family will receive friends one hour prior from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Norris Funeral Services and other times at the home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
Due to the covid-19 outbreak, all restrictions mandated by the guidelines set forth by the state must be followed.
