obit-ethel-hammEula “Ethelyne” Boyd Hamm, age 90, of Meadows of Dan passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016, at Pioneer Community Hospital of Patrick County.
She was born in Patrick County on April 1, 1926 and was a daughter of the late Daniel Thomas Boyd and Nancy Avie Boyd. She was also preceded in death her husband, Dillard Cabel Hamm; two sons, Gerald Phillip Hamm and Dennis Alan Hamm; five sisters, Ruby Dalton, Jeannette Lankford, Helen Boyd, Elva Boyd, and Edith Joan Boyd; and four brothers, Nelson Boyd, Major Boyd, Larry Boyd, and Murry Lee Boyd.
She had been a member of Mount Hope Church. Ethelyne loved the Lord and her family.
Surviving are four children, Daniel Alvis Hamm and Dianne of Meadows of Dan, Rodney Dane Hamm of Grafton, Mary Hamm Moles and husband Leon of Willis, and Jackie Ray Hamm of Meadows of Dan; 14 grandchildren, Lauren Trimble and Eric, Timothy Hamm and Natalie, Jamie Hamm and Beth, Jeffery Hamm and Misty, Angela Gurley and Chris, Gregory Hamm, Kimberly Trent and Mark, Jennifer Hamm, Dwayne Hamm, Richard Hamm, Robert Hamm and Shea, Terri Hamm, Faith Hamm, and Hayley Martin; 28 great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Hamm of Willis; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held in the Hamm Family Cemetery on Sunday with Leon Moles officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Vesta Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 911, Meadows of Dan, VA 24120.
