Carol June Nester Pruitt, 76, of Mount Airy, N.C., died Thursday morning, October 13, 2016, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Patrick County on May 15, 1940 and was a daughter of the late Wade Nester and Avis Smith Nester. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Garland Nester; and an infant sister.
She was a member of Blues Grove Baptist Church for over 60 years
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dallas Ray Pruitt of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, David Ray Pruitt and Sherrie of Dobson, N.C.; a grandson; a granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews and family and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Blues Grove Baptist Church with Pastors Sammy Lawson, Roland McCraw and Travis Sechrist officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
