The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a food distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a morning distribution in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m., and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.

Floyd County Historical Society will host Dr. Charlie Thompson speaking about ‘Rock Castle Home’ at 10:45 a.m. in the Jesse Peterman Library Community Room.
Concord United Methodist Church will hold a hot dog supper with all the trimmings starting at 5 p.m. Contributions are accepted, and baked items will also be sold. Special music will be provided by the Senior Melodies.

Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) will hold a Minecraft Makers Camp each day from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the P&HCC Dalton IDEA Center. The camp is limited to nine rising 6th-9th grade students and costs $59. Pre-registration is required by going to ph.augusoft.net or calling 276-656-5461.

The Ararat Ruritan Club will host a barn quilt painting class from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. which will be led by Lisa Martin with The Wormy Chestnut. Pre-Register via email by June 20 to lisaorpheus@gmail.com, to ensure your template will be designed and ready for painting. The cost is $30 and includes all supplies needed to complete the barn quilt. The club building is located at 4711 Ararat Highway in Ararat, VA.
A Homeschool curriculum sale sponsored by the Patrick County Home Educators will be held at the Hooker Building at Rotary Field in Stuart from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Anyone who would like to set up a table to sell their curriculum must register to do so by June 18. The cost of a table is $10, and set up will begin at 9 a.m. Seller will supply their own tables and supplies and must clean up their area when done. A Small Business Saturday Cruise-in will be held at Rotary Field from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A cake walk will be $1 and$5 tickets for all you can play.
Patrick County Allstars will hold a Home Run Derby from 6-9 p.m. at the Patrick County High School Softball Field. Participation is $10 and includes 8 pitches to shoot for the fence and a cash prize. The most home runs out of 8 pitches in the age group wins, and all ages are welcome to join. Bats and balls will be provided, but you must bring your own pitcher. You can enter as many times as you want. Concessions will be available. Spectator gate fee is $3. All proceeds go to the Patrick County All-Stars Coach Pitching Team.

The Mtn. View Church of God of Prophecy will hold a Homecoming Celebration beginning at 10:30 a.m., with special guests The Richards, a fulltime ministry in song and evangelism. Lunch will follow.

Resolute Therapy will hold a Bookin’it for Fun Color Run. The cost for pre-registration is $25 with the day-of cost being $30. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office’s “Shop with a Cop” and “Project Life Saver Bands” programs and the Patrick County Public Library. A Bluegrass and Old Time Music Competition will be held at the Vesta Community Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The competition categories include banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bands, vocals, and flat footing are include three levels: children, teen, and adult. Everyone is welcome to compete and must be signed in by 11 a.m.

Stuart United Methodist Church will offer The Circle of Hands from 1:30-3:30 p.m. the first and third Sunday of every month. If it is a holiday weekend, the meeting will be cancelled. Men and women are invited to attend the new group, which offers an opportunity to fellowship, and bring a project to work on or lean a new craft.
The Patrick County Parks & Recreation Office is accepting soccer registration for the 2022-2023 school year. Students who are 3-14 years of age (7th grade or under) are eligible to participate in the department’s soccer program. Those interested should call the office at 276-694-3917. The deadline for registration is July 30.
