Rita Gail Holt

Ms. Rita Gail Holt, age 63, of Stuart, Virginia departed this earthly life on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was born on June 18, 1959, in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Raymond Martin Holt and Mary Lou Lawson Holt. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Holt Hepler; two brothers, David Holt, William “Bill” Holt; and one nephew, Gary Christopher Spencer. Rita will be remembered as a loving sister, a wonderful friend, and a woman of great strength. Ms. Holt will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish the memory of Ms. Holt are five brothers, Philip Holt (Debbie) of Bassett, Virginia, Doug Holt (Judy) of Washington State, James “Jim” Holt (Linda) of Bakersville, California, Glen Holt (Helen) of Patrick Springs, Virginia, Dwight Holt (Nancy/Van) of Martinsville, Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews; best friend, Connie Sue Pack Whitlock of Stuart, Virginia; and many dear friends.

There will be no formal services held for Ms. Holt in accordance with her wishes. Friends may come by Moody Funeral Home in Stuart to sign the register book for Ms. Rita Holt. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1079C Spruce Street, Martinsville, VA  24112. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is serving the Holt family, and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
