The Patrick County Long Term Care Committee will once again host the Senior Health Fair and Symposium in person on Friday, October 21 at Rotary Field in Stuart.
Stephanie LaPrade from the Southern Area Agency on Aging announced that the event will begin at 9:30 in the Hooker Building. A representative from the sheriff’s office will speak to attendees about new scams targeting seniors. Other topics include “How to Talk to Your Doctor” and “Getting Your Affairs in Order.” A light breakfast and coffee will be available in the morning.
Lunch will be provided at noon, followed by the Health Fair in the Rotary Building next door. Over twenty vendors who provide goods and services targeted to seniors will be there, as well as the Patrick County Health Department offering flu shots and covid boosters, and representatives from Foresight Hospital of Patrick County who can answer any questions about the progress on the facility. The vendor fair will be open from noon to 2:30.
As always, this event is free and open to the public. For planning purposes, registration is required to reserve lunch. To register, call (276) 694-3050 or sign up online at https://bit.ly/pcseniorfair.
