Ronald “Ron” Harris King, age 77, of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, N.C.
He was born in Washington, D.C. on March 7, 1939 and was a son of the late James and Juanita Harris King. He served in the United States Air Force and had retired from the Washington, D.C Police Department after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Linda Saunders King; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Dianne King of Conway, AR, Michael and Natalie King of Spanish Fork, Ut.; six grandchildren, Kathrine, Stephanie, Kelly, Sadie, Carlie, and Aubrie King; and one brother, Elton Leonard King of Maryland.
A graveside service was held Monday at the John Adams Family cemetery with President Todd Taylor officiating. Military rites were performed by the Patrick County Veterans’ Memorial Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
