The regular monthly meeting of the Colonel Abram Penn Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was held Monday, November 14, in the fellowship hall of Stuart Presbyterian Church. Chapter Regent Ann McConnell presided with five members present.
To celebrate Native American Month, chapter member Diane Ross presented a program honoring the Oneida Nation and the key role the Oneidas played in the battles Oriskany, Fort Stanwix and Saratoga; battles that were crucial to winning the Revolutionary War. The Oneidas were the patriots’ first allies. Following the program Regent McConnell presented Janice Stanley with a Past Chapter Regent Pin in recognition of her recent leadership of the chapter.
Afterwards committee reports were presented, and future projects were discussed. The next chapter meeting will be December 12.
