A public reception and awards presentation will be held at 5:30 p.m. for the 6th annual Student Art Show at the Reynolds Homestead. Bull Mountain Arts and Virginia Tech’s Reynolds Homestead are partnering to host the show through May 14.

The Carroll County Genealogy Club will meet at 5 p.m. on the left side of the Historic Courthouse on Main Street in Hillsville.
The Patrick County Republican Committee will hold its regular business meeting at 6 p.m. in the Motorsports Hall of Fame Auditorium attached to the Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC).

The Patrick County Alzheimer’s Group, LLC, will hold a Patrick County’s Got Talent show at the Patrick County High School (PCHS) Auditorium at 7 p.m. The competition is open to all ages and prizes will be awarded by age groups. The Friends of the Blue Ridge Regional Library are hosting a book sale in the basement of the main branch, 310 E. Church St., Martinsville from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Louis L’Amour & Zane Grey hardback collections, a nice collection of gardening & flower arranging book, new quilting, young adult, children’s books, cookbooks, & many others. ALL paperback books are .50¢ & ALL hardback books are $1, unless otherwise marked. All proceeds go back into the library system.
Shred & Meds Event, 9 a.m. to noon at Rotary Field. Drop off event for your old paper documents for secure shredding. Limited to 10 boxes per vehicle. Bring your unused prescription medications for disposal.
Tire Take Back, 1 to 5 p.m. at the Transfer Station. Fee waived to dispose of up to 12 tires per vehicle. No trash disposal is available during the event.
The Patrick County Democrats will meet at 9 a.m. at the corner of Route 8/Salem Highway and Five Forks to take part in the county’s cleanup day. Refreshments will be provided. Members to reconvene at a local restaurant afterwards for discussion/updates on future events/activities.

VFW Post 7800 will hold its meeting at 939 VFW Road, Patrick Springs at 7 p.m. Any veteran who has served in a combat theater or has a qualifying status is invited to attend and should bring their DD214 or qualifying documents with them.

Ag Demo Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rotary Field, featuring equipment and safety demonstrations, a Tractor Skills Competition, Barnival, animal exhibits and vendors. This event is free and open to all ages.
Patrick County Master Gardeners’ Spring Plant Sale will be held in the Memorial Building from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Sycamore Baptist Church will hold a special singing event from 6-8 p.m. with the talents of the church members. A love offering will be taken with all proceeds benefiting the students of Woolwine Elementary School. Light refreshments will be provided afterwards.
