Woolwine Elementary’s School’s 2023 recipient of the Colonel Abram Penn Chapter NSDAR Youth Citizenship Award is Ivan Joaquin-Ortega. Ivan was presented this award by Principal Jeannie King-Hubbard during the Seventh Grade Promotion Ceremony on May 18th in the school’s auditorium. Ivan demonstrates this award’s requirements of leadership, dependability, service, and patriotism in his school, home and community. He also received the President’s Education Award and the Principal’s Award. He is a member of Jr. Beta. Ivan’s favorite hobby is soccer, and he played on the middle school team this year. He plans to continue playing soccer at PCHS. He also enjoys running, fishing, and playing video games. At the present time, Ivan’s career plan is to become a software programmer. He is the son of Pedro Lozano and Bertha Ortega-Garcia.
