Margaret Cummings Ullrich, age 79, of Patrick Springs, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016, at her home in the loving care of her family.
She was born in Patrick County on January 18, 1937 to the late Casper Doctor “Dock” Cummings and Sallie Mae Koger Cummings. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ullrich was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ruth Ullrich; three brothers, Cecil E., Clayton H. and Charles R. Cummings; one sister, Mary V. L. Cummings; and a sister-in-law, Mary Frances Gates Cummings.
She had been a lifetime member of Salem United Methodist Church, and had served honorably in the United States Air Force where she met the love of her life. She never met a stranger and was beloved by many all over the world. She considered Patrick County her home, no matter where she traveled.
Mrs. Ullrich is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Howard L. Ullrich Sr. of the home, three daughters, Marian Ann Ullrich of Patrick Springs, Marie Allison Ullrich CDR, USN of San Diego, Calif., and Myra K. Trent and husband Thomas of Patrick Springs; one son, Howard L. Ullrich Jr. of Patrick Springs; two grandchildren, Emily N. Trent and Evan T. Trent; a very special niece, Regina G. Galloway of Van, Texas; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor John Franklin officiating. Burial was in the Trent-Cummings Family Cemetery. The Patrick County Memorial Honor Guard conducted military rites.
