Henry “Harvey” Elwood West Jr., 74, of Miles Road, Collinsville, died at his home on Sunday, February 14, 2016.
He was born on March 2, 1941. in Lumberton, N.C., to the late Henry Elwood West Sr., and the late Addie Myrl Davis West. He was preceded in death by his brother, David West.
He was of the Christian faith. He owned the West Construction Commercial Contractor business.
Surviving are his daughters, Misty Lynn West Hylton of the residence, Phyllis Diane Scott of Stuart and Felicia Marie Cockram of Woolwine; one stepdaughter, Lori Ann Chaney Flippin of Martinsville; sons, Kenny Ray West of Kent, Oh., and Gary Anthony West of Stuart; one stepson, Barry Troy Chaney of Ridgeway; sisters, Shirley East of North Carolina, Linda Harris of Martinsville, and Robin Brockett of Florida; brothers, Jerry West of Fieldale, Bruce West of Florida, and Carroll West of Salem; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Norris Funeral Services Martinsville chapel with Pastor Bud Sedwick officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
