The Stokes County Arts Council announced the opening of an exhibition of original artwork by Sarah Booze in the Apple Gallery. The exhibit, titled “Summer Memories,” will be on display through August 15.
A reception will be held on Saturday, July 12, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Apple Gallery, located inside the Stokes County Arts Council at 500 Main Street in Danbury.
Born and raised in the foothills of North Carolina, Booze began drawing and painting at age 12 and launched her professional art career in 2017. A self-taught artist, she is inspired by the beauty of natural landscapes, particularly those found in rural North Carolina and the many places she has traveled.
Her acrylic and gouache landscapes have earned numerous awards and recognitions along the East Coast. Booze also shares her artwork and techniques with an online audience and currently teaches youth painting classes at Sawtooth School of Visual Arts in Winston-Salem.
The Stokes County Arts Council is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.
