Stuart Rotary Club honors veterans at Landmark Center

Smiles and stories filled the Landmark Center as members of the Stuart Rotary Club honored resident veterans with cake, gifts, and words of thanks. Veterans honored were Lee Emanuel, Army; Terry J. Foley, Army; Marvin Hiatt, Army; George Hopkins, WWII Army; Peter Kuper, Army; Turner Thompson, WWII Army; Don Watts Sr., Air Force; Posey L. Koger, Army; and Peter Kuper, WWII Dutch Army. Retired Marine Michael McGuinness was the guest speaker.

Several veterans participated in the ceremony, including Peter Kuper, who served in the Dutch Army on the front lines during WWII and was in the Dutch underground during the Nazi occupation. Kuper is 100 years old. Also pictured are Rotarians Bruce Griffith, Michael McGuinness, Christy Gambil, and Tony Dixon.
