At a regular meeting of the Red Bank Ruritan Club on March 2, two special events took place.

The first involved the presentation of a plaque in honor of Wallace Brim, a charter member of The Red Bank Ruritan Club since 1955. Present to accept this honor bestowed upon Wallace Brim, deceased, were his daughter Janet Brim Jenkins, his son Jackie Brim and their respective family members. The Brim family traveled from North Carolina to attend this special presentation for their father.

The second event was the presentation on behalf of the Red Bank Ruritan Club of donations for service to the community in the amount of a check for $500 each to the CCDF Volunteer Fire Department/Rescue Squad, Ararat Volunteer Fire Department, Ararat Volunteer Rescue Squad and Blue Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad.
