The Patrick County Extension Office is offering a series of four financial education workshops this spring. These programs are designed to help individuals, families, and farm operators strengthen their financial preparedness, improve document organization, and plan for the future.

Estate Planning 101
This free session will guide participants through the fundamentals of estate planning, including wills, powers of attorney, advance medical directives, living wills, and trusts. The workshop will be held Tuesday, April 28, from 6:30–8 p.m. at Patrick & Henry Community College in Stuart. This session will be facilitated by Sarah Bidwill, attorney and owner of Wills on Wheels.

Farm Estate Planning 101
This workshop focuses on essential considerations for farm families preparing for long term transition and asset protection. Topics include succession planning, transition strategies, and tools to safeguard farm operations for the next generation. The workshop will be held Tuesday, April 29, 6 p.m. at Patrick & Henry Community College, Stuart Campus. The $10 registration fee includes dinner. The session will be led by Brian Parks, CLU, FSCP, FSS, LUTCF, of Southern Farm Bureau Insurance. This workshop is sponsored by Farm Bureau Insurance.

Emergency Binder Workshop
Participants will learn how to assemble and organize essential personal, medical, and financial information needed during emergencies, illness, or unexpected events. A $10 materials fee will be collected at the door. This workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, from 6:30–8 p.m. at Patrick & Henry Community College in Stuart. This session will be facilitated by Sarah Bidwill, attorney and owner of Wills on Wheels.

Document Management Workshop
This session will focus on organizing and securely disposing of household documents to reduce clutter and protect sensitive information. Participants should not bring personal papers to the workshop. Instead, they will leave with a clear understanding of what documents to keep and what can be safely discarded/shredded. The workshop will be offered Tuesday, May 19, from 6:30–8 p.m., also at Patrick & Henry Community College in Stuart. This session will be facilitated by Sarah Bidwill, attorney and owner of Wills on Wheels.
