By Dr. Clyde Dupin

It was in 1976 I started writing Religious Viewpoint and have not missed a week in 45 years.  We have written over 2300 columns and more than 100 newspapers have carried its column.

Since 1976 our world has changed.  I would never believe our beloved America would become a socialist nation.  Our educational system has changed drastically.  Today same-sex marriage is accepted by many, and gays are in the open.  Sex trafficking is a billion dollar a year business.  The open borders are sending thousands of girls into sex slavery where they will only live about seven years.  My heart is saddened as I see the demise of America.  Our values are vanishing and morality has slipped away.  In our universities, most faculty members are anti-God and liberal socialists.  Our young people leave home with faith and return home and don’t believe in God.

In the Church during these 45 years, I have seen a great falling away from the Bible and true Christianity.

I have spent more than 100 days in Russia.  I have seen the poverty and anti-God teaching that Russian socialism has had on their people.  The socialists said that religion is the opiate of the people.  The socialism in America is one of the most destructive ideologies ever to affect our beloved America.

Even in the religious world men like Bill Hybels, Jimmy Swaggart, and others have brought shame to the Church.

I hope this last Religious Viewpoint will awaken Christians to what is happening in America.  There is still hope in Jesus Christ.  The wonderful Gospel has not changed. I urge you again to read the all-time favorite verse, John 3:16.
