The Patrick County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC), will offer a Lunch & Learn workshop titled, “Ensuring Your ADA Compliance.” This informative session is designed to help organizations prepare for upcoming Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) digital accessibility requirements.
Barriers to accessing online services can significantly impact people’s day-to-day lives. While some public entities have until April 2027 to fully comply, many organizations face a compliance deadline of April 24. Creating and maintaining accessible digital content requires planning, and this workshop will help participants understand what steps they need to take now to be prepared.
During the workshop, attendees will receive an overview of the new compliance standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) expectations for websites, social media posts, digital documents, and shared storage. Real-world examples will be reviewed, along with practical guidance on how to update digital content to meet accessibility standards.
The workshop will take place on Tuesday, February 24, at 12 p.m. at the P&HCC Stuart Site. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch and take advantage of this learning opportunity. The event is free, but registration is requested.
