With America’s 250th birthday fast approaching in 2026, the Patrick County VA250 committee will kick off local celebrations with a free event from 2p.m. to 4p.m. on March 8, at the Star Theatre in Stuart.
The event will feature local historians in a roundtable discussion and Q&A session on the area’s role before, during, and after the Revolutionary War. Attendees can ask questions and share their family histories from the Revolutionary War in Patrick County.
The discussion will include Beverly Belcher Woody, local historian and writer of the popular Patrick Pioneers column in The Enterprise, President of the Patrick County Historical Society, John Reynolds, and Patrick County VA250 chairman and Revolutionary war re-enactor, B.J. Nolan.
The event is free, and will be a great opportunity to learn and share the history of Patrick County, as well as learning how to join in the local planning of America’s 250th birthday.
