Andrea Carolyn Frazier passed away unexpectedly at her home the evening of March 10, 2023. She was born in Danville, Virginia, on June 30, 1946, to J.B. and Vada “Vadie” Frazier. She married Thomas McDuffie Childs in December 1966, and gave birth to her only child, Timothy Michael Childs, on July 21, 1967.
She moved to Charlotte, NC, where she was a successful businesswoman and single mother, and slowly but steadily earned her college degree.
She married her fourth and best husband, Pike Sullivan, in 1993. She and Pike built their dream home on a piece of her grandfather’s land in Meadows of Dan and lived there “happily ever after.” She worked for the Chateau Morrisette Winery in Floyd, Va.
She is preceded in death by her husband Pike (2011), and her older siblings Judith “Judy” Sutker and Franklin “Frank” Frazier.
She is survived by her younger brother James Brantley Frazier, her son Michael, her daughter in law Selena Berrier Childs, her stepchildren Marshall Sullivan, Jamie Sullivan, and Robert Sutton, Jr., and her grandchildren June Vivian Childs and Theodore Jett Childs, and step-grandchildren Luke and Matthew Sullivan, Elijah Scales, Sabastian Dean and Anthony Noel Sullivan, and Sydney Sutton.
It was her wish that she be cremated and have no funeral. However, a remembrance for family and friends was held on her property Saturday, March 25th, 2023. She enjoyed having her many friends and family over for a glass of wine and good conversation. She will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, please instead donate to the Meadows of Dan Ruritan Club, of which Andrea was a proud member: https://ruritanmod.square.site.
