Ann Martin Easter

Mrs. Ann Martin Easter, age 89, of Stuart, Virginia went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital. Ann was born in Patrick County on November 5, 1932, to the late John Rubin Martin and Isa Ann Emerson Martin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Easter was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Franklin “Edd” Easter; two sons, Billy Ray Easter, Bobby Wade Easter; one grandson, Douglas Easter; four brothers, Claude Martin, Noel Martin, Lemuel Martin, John Franklin Martin; three sisters, Frances Martin, Minnie Eagle, and Delia Marshall. Mrs. Easter was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Ann was a Godly woman and a lifetime, faithful member of Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church where she led the women’s ministry. She was a selfless woman who always put others above herself, leading others by example. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish the sweet memories of Mrs. Easter are one daughter, Margaret Ann Rakes of Rocky Mount, Virginia; one son, Eddie Arnold Easter of Martinsville, Virginia; six grandchildren, Tonya Meeks (Patrick), Samuel Rakes (Jodi) , Melissa Easter-Calfee (Jeremiah), Michelle Easter, Robert Easter, Brittany Easter; twelve great-grandchildren, Abby, Lincoln, Alanis, Sage, Colton, Knoxley, Kadence, Kinder, Haley, McKenzie, Noah, and Jasiah; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Easter of Martinsville, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Denise Easter of Mount Airy, North Carolina; several special nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

A funeral service for Mrs. Easter will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. at Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Kenneth Terry and Samuel Rakes officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Buffalo Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church, c/o Naomi Pilson, 202 Bob Kat Lane, Stuart, VA  24171. The family will not receive friends at the residence; however, a meal will be provided immediately after the burial at the church. If friends and family want to bring food, please bring to the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is serving the Easter family, and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Sandra Hall, Sophie Durham, Ruby Nester, Sara Joe Childs, and Lisa Spencer for all the special care they gave to their mom over the years.
