The Ararat Ruritan Club held its regularly scheduled business meeting on Thursday, January 7 and welcomed two new members, one of which is a returning member from years past.
Profits from 2020 fundraisers was a main topic of discussion as the club determined how to invest the funds back into its community. It plans to present some of these disbursements at the February meeting.
The annual ad book was delayed for several reasons this fall, mostly pertaining to COVID-19, however it is now out and available for perusing. Local community businesses helped to make this fundraiser a success.
The club held its first canvas painting class recently, with eight participants who had lots of fun with our paint-leader Melanie Roberson. Another canvas painting night is scheduled for February 11 at 6 p.m. This “LOVE” painting will be led by Grace Helms.
There are more plans for fundraisers for this first quarter. An online BINGO is slated for the first Friday in February (02/05/2021) and others will be announced as plans and dates are complete.
Be sure to mark these dates down on your calendar….
· 02/05/2021 – 7 p.m., Virtual BINGO
· 02/11/2021 – 6 p.m., LOVE Canvas painting
Pre-registration is needed for both events. More details are available on the Ararat Ruritan Club’s Facebook page, or email AraratRuritanClub@gmail.com.
