The Patrick County Sheriffs Office made the following arrests:

Troy Sherman Venable Jr., 34, of Ararat, was charged Jan. 3 with writing bad checks. Investigator T. K. Wilson made the arrest.

Michael Joseph Mostipak, 34, of Dorris, Ca., was charged Jan. 3 with 10 counts of Schedule I or II drug. Sergeant E. J. Litz made the arrest.

James Daniel Biggs, 28, of Critz, was charged Jan. 5 with three counts driving with a revoked/suspended license; one count each carry concealed weapon, firearm possession by a convicted felon. Deputy J. D. Hubbard made the arrest.

Timothy Lee Simpkins, 32, of Martinsville, was charged Jan. 6 with driving with a revoked/suspended license. Deputy W. D. Hill made the arrest.

Amber Nicole Lawson, 37, of Patrick Springs, was charged Jan. 7 with Schedule III drug possession with intent to distribute. Deputy Lewis K. Carroll Jr. made the arrest for Danville PD.

Amy Michelle Smith, 36, of Patrick Springs, was charged Jan. 10 with one count each, assault and batter and driving without a license. Deputy J. D Hubbard made the arrest.

Lawrence Anthony Penn, 29, of Stuart, was charged Jan. 10 with assault and batter. Deputy J. D. Hubbard made the arrest.
