Barbara Ruth Willard Hutchens

Mrs. Barbara Ruth Willard Hutchens, age 90 of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, formerly of Stuart, Virginia passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, February 22, 2024. She was born in Patrick County on December 6, 1933, to the late Ervin Wesley Willard and Ima Lee Hodges Willard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Rufus Hutchens; and two brothers, David Wesley Willard and an infant brother. Ruth was a loving and caring wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren play sports.

Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Hutchens are her five children, Barbara Hutchens Mabe (Ronnie) of Stuart, VA, Kaye Hutchens Sifford (Terry) of Ridgeway, VA, James Allen Hutchens (Christi) of Iva, SC, Thomas Ervin Hutchens (Angie) of Stuart, VA, and Jerry Wayne Hutchens (Tammy) of Stuart, VA; special daughter, Angela Hutchens Keith (Anthony); eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Willard Clifton of Ridgeway, VA and Sylvia Willard Lawson of Stuart, VA; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mrs. Hutchens will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Ervin Clifton officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening at the funeral home in Stuart from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
