The Misunderstood Bat was celebrated at the Landmark Center and the Library, with bats and bat facts flying at each place last week.
Master Gardeners Jen Harrison, Jess Hines and Norma Bozenmayer presented a special bat program at Landmark Center and then flew to the library where they joined children’s librarian Sam Edmundson for more bat fun at the library’s Storytime with bat themed books, “Never, Not Ever!” by Beatrice Alemagna and “Bat Jamboree” by Kathi Appelt.
Children learned bat facts and decorated their very own bat to fly home.
Bats can live 10 to 30 years and can eat 1000 insects a night.
