“Bats at the Library,” by Brian Lies and “Bat Loves the Night,” by Nicola Davies were the books read by librarian Emme Tilley to celebrate national bat month at the library’s recent Storytime. Children heard everything about the mysterious mammals including their use of echolocation to locate prey and the thousands of insects they eat.
Bats live, on average, 10 to 20 years and have 1 to 3 young a year. They are amazing animals that are very important to the environment. The program concluded with making a bat stick puppet with glow in the dark eyes.
