Mrs. Beatrice Alene Hylton, age 81 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019, at her home.  She was born on May 30, 1938, to Dewey Wood and Winnie Howell Wood.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Wood and Randy Wood; and one sister, Thelma Cassell.  Alene loved her animals, enjoyed life, loved the color purple, and she never had a mean word to say about anyone. She will be remembered as a loving, caring, wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Clyde Hylton of the home; five children, Cindy Haas Shelor of Meadows of Dan, Sherry and Rob Mitchell of Stuart, Karen Haas Burnette of Meadows of Dan, Joyce and Joe Hiatt of Stuart, Joseph and Amy Haas of Meadows of Dan; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clinton and Elaine Hylton of Bassett, Arnold and Larmie Hylton of Stuart, Judy Hylton of Stuart, Freda and Donnie Pendleton of Stuart; and nieces and nephews.
