Betty Lou Martin, 77, departed this life on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at her home in Patrick Springs. She was born on November 30, 1947 to the late Willie Reed and Mattie Lou Martin.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Dora Lee Perdue and husband, Gary, of Stuart;

Joyce Ann Martin of Patrick Springs and Patricia Elaine Keffer and husband, Rickey, of Bassett; brothers, Walter Eugene Martin and wife, Clovis, of Patrick Springs; Rickey Monroe Martin and wife, Dot, of Axton; numerous nieces and nephews; her longtime companion, Edel (Bug) McMillian of Axton; and her special friends, Louise, Kaye, and Carolyn.

She had a heart of pure gold, overflowing with love for everyone, especially animals. Betty was devoted to her beloved pets, Miss Kitty and Rubby Dub. Her love of animals extended to strays that she often took in until she found them loving homes. She was an avid gardener, and her yard was always a colorful spectacle of flowers that she generously shared with others. Whether she was tending her garden or whipping up one of her delicious cakes, she was focused on helping people, which was truly her greatest joy. Betty was like a mama to everyone who knew her. She made sure you never left her house without her signature send-off, “I love you.”

A graveside service will be held in her honor at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 7, 2025, at County Line Church of God, 2900 County Line Road, Patrick Springs. Reverend Jason Callahan will preside.

Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Bassett is respectfully serving the family.
