The Patrick County Blood Drive is scheduled for March 9, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the John D. Hooker Building, Rotary Field.
The American Red Cross encourages donors to make an appointment for their time to donate via internet at redcross.org or by calling 1-800-733-2767. Walk-ins are always welcomed but donation might take longer because those with appointments are accommodated first.
The American Red Cross recommends that all donors get a good night’s sleep, eat a well-balanced, nutritious meal and drink lots of fluids 48-hours before donating.
Current guidelines of the CDC are followed to make sure all donors, volunteers, and staff are protected during their visit. Temperatures are taken, masks are worn, and social distancing is practiced.
