The residents of Blue Ridge are getting ready for their annual Easter Egg Hunt. The hunt will take place on April 15 at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. We will be having two different hunts with the ages of 1-5 years old starting at 10:30 and ages 6-12 years starting at 11:15.
The residents will be stuffing over 3,000 eggs for this event. We will also be having the bouncy house the children can play in while waiting for their age group’s egg hunt. Peter Rabbit will be at the event for you to have your pictures taken with him.
Residents have been practicing their hand bells so they will be able to perform for the Easter Egg Hunt. They are also working on Easter crafts so they can be on display during the holiday. The residents enjoyed going shopping this past week. They enjoyed shopping for new spring clothes, snacks, and Easter gifts for loved ones. Staff members have fun helping the residents look for clothes and other personal items. Some of the residents shopped for new Easter outfits to go out to their church services with family members on Easter Sunday.
They also had a wonderful time at a seafood restaurant in Martinsville. It’s been a long time since we have been and many of our new residents asked to go there. They talked about when they were home how they would go out to eat with their family members and how much they enjoyed the food. Residents and staff members had a full bellies on their way back to the center. We all enjoyed the food.
We are working on National Volunteer Week which is the week of April 23-29. During this week, we like to honor our group volunteers with a meal at the Landmark Center which will be held on Thursday, April 27 at 7 p.m.
We look forward to spending time with our volunteers and being able to honor them for all they do for our activities programs and for our residents.
We are also working on many community events which will be held later this year for the community to enjoy, such as another “Splish-Splash” event for the summer. We look forward to seeing you at all our events.
