The Patrick County Board of Supervisors will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, in the third-floor boardroom of the Patrick County Veterans’ Memorial Building in Stuart.
Following the opening session and the approval of the meeting agenda, minutes and bills, claims and appropriations, the board will give citizens the opportunity to speak.
In new business, the board will hear comments about a Byrne Grant from Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Vipperman, and end-of-the-year reports from Treasurer Sandra Stone.
County Administrator Tom Rose will discuss pre-trial services and probation; animal transport; training; and the annual conference of the Virginia Association of Counties.
In old business, the board is expected to ratify its earlier vote on an appropriation to the Children’s Services Act (CSA).
The board is expected to go into executive session to discuss personnel (volunteers for the Alcohol Safety Action Program and the Patrick County Planning Commission), legal matters, contract matters and real estate.
The board of supervisors meets on the second Monday of each month, and on the fourth Monday if another meeting is considered necessary.
