A local medical clinic was burglarized late Sunday and early Monday, according to Sheriff Dan Smith.

The Pioneer Family Medical Office on Woodland Drive in Stuart sustained a large amount of structural damage during the burglary, and multiple items inside were damaged.

The office was found in complete disarray by employees on Monday morning, according to a release.

Medicine, medical supplies and office supplies were stolen, according to the sheriff.

“People depend on this clinic, our community needs this clinic, those responsible for this will be dealt with,” Smith said.

Deputies spent most of Monday collecting evidence and processing the crime scene, he said.

The Sheriff’s Office is offering a substantial reward for information leading to the arrest of the offender(s). The clinic was closed for the entire day on Monday. Smith is urging individuals with knowledge of this crime to call him confidentially at 276-692-7012.

“Don’t let this weigh on your conscience if you know who did this, do the right thing and call,” he said. Brian Hubbard, lead investigator on the case, can be reached confidentially at 276-692-6512.
