The Patrick County Chamber of Commerce is launching its application process for the PCVA Business Builders program for 2021.

PCVA Business Builders is an entrepreneurial mentoring program with an intensive eight-week entrepreneurial boot-camp for startups.

The application is competitive and requires that applicants agree to the program guidelines, including a “pitch night.” March 19 is the application deadline.

This inaugural program will provide the skills needed to start and manage a successful business in Patrick County. The eight-week program will include topics on licensing and permitting, taxes, financial plans, and business structuring.

Due to restrictions, this round will be held virtually on Tuesday nights.

The program is possible due to a grant with Patrick Henry Community College, which facilitates the boot-camp. Clark Gas and Oil and AEP also are funding partners, with additional partners that include the Longwood Small Business Development Center and Patrick County Tourism. More partners and funding sources are being secured and will be announced later.

The application is available online at www.patrickchamber.com.

Contact Rebecca Adcock, executive director of the chamber, with questions at (276) 694-6012 or patcchamber@embarqmail.com.
