Carleene Hatcher Pilson

Carleene Hatcher Pilson, 86, of Stuart, Virginia, passed away on February 4, 2025, at Stanleytown Health and Rehab in Bassett. She was born in Patrick County on September 19, 1938, to the late Eldon Ray Hatcher and Amanda Vernellie Thomas Hatcher. In addition to her parents, Carleene is preceded in death by first husband, Clarence Leon Pilson, Sr; her second husband, Charles Alfred Pilson; sons, Johnny Lee Pilson and William Ray Pilson; and one brother Paul Hatcher.

Mrs. Pilson is survived by three children, C.L. Pilson (Kathy) of Stuart, Davis Pilson (Pauline) of Woolwine, and Jerry Pilson of Stuart; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister Blanch Rebecca Speicher of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and brothers Curtis Hatcher of Stuart, Dewey Hatcher, and Milton Hatcher, both of Martinsville.

Carleene was a member of the Ross Harbour Methodist Church in Stuart, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ross Harbour Cemetery Fund, C/O Cathy Adams, 32 Goblintown Rd., Stuart, Virginia 24171. Funeral services for Mrs. Pilson will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Ross Harbour Methodist Church in Stuart, with Pastor Dewey Hatcher officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart has been entrusted with the arrangements and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
