The next meeting of the Carroll County Genealogy Club will be on Wednesday, July 20 in the library on the first floor of the Historic Courthouse in Hillsville at 6 p.m. Rayburn Mitchell will present the genealogy gem about women in the Revolutionary War.
The number of visitors to the library has increased with researchers looking for their ancestors. Volunteers are available Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help.
The club continues to receive applications for the First Families of Carroll County. Applications are available at the club library or by writing to: Carroll County Genealogy Club, P.O. Box 395, Hillsville, VA 24343.
The Patterson reunion will be held August 14 at 4471 Coal Creek Road, Galax. Bring a covered dish and plan to eat around noon.
