Unfortunately the threat of snow canceled the February meeting of the  Carroll County Genealogy Club. The March meeting will be on Wednesday, March 15 at 6 p.m. in the club library in the Historic Courthouse in Hillsville.

Please note that the club follows the Carroll County School closure schedule: if  the  schools are closed because of bad weather then the library will be closed and any meeting scheduled for that night will be canceled. The library will be open only on  Wednesdays for the month of March from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The club library has books about the Alderman family, as well as, material on various Carroll County families written by John Perry Alderman. Alderman’s research is presented in such a way that we have a better idea of what life was like for our ancestors when the county was formed. Other facts about the Alderman family  and other Carroll County families can be obtained from birth, death and marriage records.

Stay in touch with club activities using the club Facebook page and the Friends of Carroll County Genealogy Club website.
