Mr. Carroll Joseph Greer, age 78 of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023, at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Raena Foley Greer; two sons, David and Andy; two grandchildren, Ethan and Abigail; a brother, Perry; Buford’s wife, Cammie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lillie Greer; parents-in-law, Eugene and Allene Foley; a brother Buford; Perry’s wife, Nancy; and an infant sister, Joyce.
Mr. Greer worked at Fieldcrest Mills for 36 years until it closed. He then worked for 15 years at a warehouse before retiring. He loved to fix anything that was broken and playing the guitar. He enjoyed traveling with the kids, grandkids, and the many foster children in the home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Greg Martin officiating. Burial will be private at a later date.
