The Virginia Cattlemen’s Association 2019 Field Day will be held on July 12 at the Olde Dominion Ag Complex in Chatham.

This year’s event, which will be filmed by RFD-TV to be featured on the Market Day Report, is hosted in conjunction with the Pittsylvania Cattlemen’s Association and the Olde Dominion Ag Complex. The venue will include a variety events and activities for new and establish purebred and commercial cattlemen as well as industry partners and other interested in learning more about the cattle industry.

Registration and the Trade Show will open at 9:00 a.m.

The trade show will feature farm tours; demonstrations on carcass cutting, low stress cattle handling and cattle grading; youth and adult livestock and stockman’s contests; and more.

Following lunch, the Virginia Cattlemen’s will hold its business meeting, which will feature Greg Doud, Chief Ag Trade Negotiator in the Office of the United States Trade Representative.

The day will conclude with a social and Cattlemen’s Dinner featuring Mark Gardiner of Gardiner Angus Ranch in Ashland, Kansas as the keynote speaker. Virginia Cattlemen’s Cattle Producer of the Year and Industry Leader of the Year awards will also be presented during the dinner.

While the Field Day itself is a free event open to all who are interested, the Cattlemen’s Dinner is a limited seating event with RSVPs required by July 1.  For more information on this event or to purchase tickets, please call the Virginia Cattlemen’s Office at 540-992-1009 or email Tracy Fitzsimmons at tfitzsimmons@vacattlemen.org.
