(Adcock is the Executive Director of the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce.)

July 2021

By Rebecca Adcock

“Summer days are drifting away.”

There are only four months left in the year. I can’t believe it! July was filled with great events and hot and sunny days.

The chamber was busy with continued meetings as we try to stay in connection with our partners both in Patrick County and across the region. These connections are important as we work to help our businesses and organizations.

We had a successful Lunch and Learn with Kathleen McEvoy on the Canva software.

The chamber also received a small Keep Virginia Beautiful grant for beautifying an area in downtown Stuart. This project is one part of the overall downtown Community Block Grant that the County EDA received.

Coming in August — Job Fair scheduled for Wednesday, August 18, from 2 until 6 p.m. at the Patrick & Henry Community College in Stuart.

We are also continuing our monthly virtual Lunch and Learns on August 25th, 12 Noon to 1 PM.  This month’s topic is Piedmont Community Services’ Citizen Recovery Program. Please register with the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce and join us.

Welcome new chamber members Primitive Farms, Eastman Chemical Company and Old Oak Farm B&B.
