The chamber has been working diligently behind the scenes this Spring helping to assist our local businesses. We are in the planning stages for networking and educational events for the second half of the year.
We have also been active at events such as speaking and celebrating Walmart of Stuart’s 20th year anniversary, the Regional Business After Hours in Axton at the end of April, and several partner meetings regarding the announcement of a new operator for Mabry Mill. We are very excited to see the return of food service at the mill next year. In the meantime, the grounds are open for walking and enjoyment. Milepost Music, sponsored by the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, will be on site the first and third Sundays of June through September to bring some mountain music back to the site. So, stop in at the businesses in Meadows of Dan to pick up supplies and head over to enjoy the music.
The chamber hosted professional headshots the first part of May. Additionally, we presented a program about the chamber at Stuart Rotary and received donations for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
Summer will not slow down for the county as there are several events happening. We encourage everyone to check out the chamber’s website at www.patrickchamber.com for a listing of events. Great programming all summer for the kids with Patrick & Henry Community College summer STEM camp, Reynolds Homestead camp, DeHart Park Pool, Patrick County Library programs, Fairy Stone State Park wildlife programs, Healthy Kids programs at Blue Ridge and Stuart Elementary Schools, and “Movies in the Park” scheduled at various park locations throughout the county, June through August, 2026. So, please get out and enjoy Patrick County.
Welcome and help support these new businesses – Thomas Heating and Air, LLC and DRK Enterprises.
Adcock is the executive director of the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce.
