Thanks to an anonymous donor, the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce will present its Chamber Christmas Bonus program again. The drawing now includes fire and rescue volunteers who have been active for at least three years.
The Chamber will award 10 hard-working Patrick County citizens each a $500 Christmas bonus. Winners will be picked by random drawing. The contest begins December 1 and all entries must be received by 5 p.m. December 14.
To be eligible, contestants must have worked for a company for at least three years and make $40,000 or less per year. Business owners are not eligible. Plus, they must reside in Patrick County, and have worked for a Patrick County organization, business or county department at least 28 hours per week.
The chamber will accept no more than 20 entries per organization. Entries must be made through the Chamber of Commerce website at patrickchamber.com.
Only one winner will be selected per organization. The validity of all entries is the responsibility of the companies submitting the forms.
The Chamber is offering a second way to win cash this Christmas. For those who’d make Clark Griswold envious, the Chamber wants to recognize that hard work in the Third Annual Holiday Home Decorating Contest.
Once again, the top three homeowners receive a cash prize: $100 for first place, $75 for second, and $50 for third. The winning entry will be featured on the Chamber website and on social media. Judging takes place Friday, December 9, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
The Christmas Home Decorating Contest is open to county residents who have entered by noon Thursday, December 8. Winners will be announced Monday, December 12.
