The Reynolds Homestead announces three upcoming bus excursions.
The next Ray and Nancy Dietz Travel Series trip is an excursion Saturday, December 10, to Old Salem to celebrate the town’s Moravian traditions.
Departure is from Reynolds Homestead at 8:15 a.m. with an 8:45 pick up at Lowes Foods, and arrival in Old Salem is around 10 a.m.
Scheduled is a Footsteps Through History Tour, lunch at the Tavern and carol singing at the Christmas Pyramid. The trip is $50 person, and includes all but lunch.
On December 17 is a trip to the Green Valley Book Fair in Mt. Crawford. Departure is from Reynolds Homestead at 8 a.m.. Arrival is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Lunch is on your own.
The group leaves the book fair at 3 p.m. for the Shenandoah Heritage Market and meets again at 5 to head to Mrs. Rowe’s Restaurant for dinner.
The Green Valley Book Fair trip is $40 per person and includes dinner. The group will arrive at Reynolds Homestead around 9:30 p.m.
The third excursion is a trip to Asheville, N.C., January 3-5, and includes a tour of Biltmore House, its winery, a luncheon and a stay at the Grand Bohemian Hotel. The group will also visit the historic Grove Park Inn to see the Gingerbread House Competition and have dinner.
The cost is $500 per person for double occupancy; $600 for single. A deposit of 50 percent is due by December 2 with the balance due January 2. Departure time on January 3 is 9 a.m. with an anticipated return time on January 5 of 6 p.m.
