Chamber selects officers, appoints board member

The Patrick County Chamber of Commerce recently completed elections for the organization’s 2021 officers and board of directors.

The ballot was voted on and approved by the chamber board at its Dec. 8 meeting.

Board members elected to serve as officers include Roger Conner, of Primland, as president; Chris Lester, of Realty One Group, vice-president; Matilda Hunsicker, owner of Mattie-B’s, treasurer, and Laura Clark, of Clark Brothers Construction, secretary.

Matthew Ratliff, of Patrick Henry Community College Dalton Idea Center was selected as a new board member elected.

Current members of the chamber board include Kurt Bozenmayer, of the Patrick County Music Association; Amanda Hylton, of Capewell; Justin Adams, of Patrick County High School; Thomas Walker of Edward Jones Financial; Dana Harris of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care; and Elsie Stanley, of Stanburn Winery,

Board members serve three-year, staggered terms.

Organized in 1977, the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce is a private, nonprofit business association with members throughout Patrick County from businesses, nonprofits and individuals. The chamber’s mission is to provide services and support to its members; voice the position of business and industry in the County of Patrick and the Town of Stuart in both public and private forums; engage in activities that promote economic development, workforce training, and tourism within our trade area; implement training activities that enhance business and civic leadership; and engage in any business not prohibited under local, state and federal laws and those laws governing tax-exempt organizations.
