Christians must not be silent

By Dr. Clyde Dupin

We need to ask God to forgive us for our apathy and lack of concern about the sex trafficking of children on the Mexican border and around the world.

The main purpose of the church is to proclaim the Gospel and this must lead a true Christian to love and help those in need. The U.S. Department of Justice tells us the typical age of entry into prostitution is between 12 and 14. The children are usually taken into sex slavery by American men and used seven days a week, on an average of ten times a night. When these exploited children occasionally get free the police arrest them for a crime and the pimp goes free.

In Las Vegas, these children are brought in by the hundreds from almost every state for their big conventions and used by respected businessmen who, when they are back home, often attend church. The porn on the Internet has boosted this shameful human tragedy.

I have traveled to 47 countries, and my wife and I often talk to these girls waiting in hotel parking garages for some sinful man to come by. We have talked with these beaten, bruised girls on the streets of Vancouver, Canada about hope, a new beginning and Jesus until the pimp drives by for cash.

Some denominations are getting involved and trying to save our children.

There are good organizations but check them out carefully. As Christians, we need to mourn the selling and torture of young teenagers as thousands flood across our southern borders and are captured for sex slavery.  My wife and I have listened to some of their sad stories, and it is heartbreaking.

Pastors can make their people aware of what is taking place in every city. This is the kind of social justice our churches should be promoting. These kids are hungry, tortured, shamed, and usually die in seven years from sexual disease. The drug pushers are moving in to destroy our kids. They say drugs can be sold once, but capture a girl and sell her over and over again. Our churches, schools, and law enforcement must get involved.
