According to Clerk of Court Susan Gasperini, the following cases were tried in Patrick County Circuit Court during December:

Bryant Gregory Bowman, Stuart, charged with failure to appear, sentenced to 10 days in jail, assessed costs; charged with failure to appear, sentenced to three days in jail, assessed costs.

James Wesley Foley, Marion, charged with probation violation, court revoked 11 months of previously suspended sentence, assessed costs.

Lisa Lynn Foley, Stuart, charged with contempt of court, sentenced to 10 days in jail.

Christopher Darryl Gray, Walnut Cove, N.C., charged with reckless driving, nolle prossed on motion of commonwealth’s attorney; charged with DUI, first offense, sentenced to 12 months, all suspended except 30 days, ordered to attend ASAP, driver’s license revoked for 12 months, assessed $1,000 plus costs.

Venson Delano, Hairston, Stuart, charged with probation violation, court revoked five days of previously suspended sentence, assessed costs.

Matthew Paul Holt, Stuart, charged with sale of a schedule I or II controlled substance; nolle prossed on motion of the commonwealth’s attorney.

Chrystal Gayle Hough, Meadows of Dan, charged with reckless driving – endangerment, sentenced to 12 months, suspended, assessed costs; charged with driving with a suspended license, third offense, sentenced to 90 days in jail, assessed costs, driver’s license revoked for 90 days; charged with assaulting a police officer, found guilty of obstruction of justice, sentenced to 12 months in jail, assessed costs; charged with possession of marijuana, assessed $50 and costs, driver’s license revoked for six months.

Joshua Wayne Justice, Stuart, charged with shoplifting, sentenced to five years, all suspended except six months, assessed costs; charged with shoplifting, sentenced to five years, all suspended, assessed costs; charged with two counts of sale of an imitation controlled substance, sentenced to five years on both counts, all suspended, assessed costs, driver’s license revoked for six months; sentenced to sale of a schedule I or II controlled substance, sentenced to 10 years, suspended, assessed costs and restitution, driver’s license revoked for six months; charged with sale of a schedule I or II controlled substance, sentenced to 10 years, all suspended except four years and six months, assessed $1,000 fine and costs; driver’s license suspended for six months.

Kody Devin Katzer, Patrick Springs, charged with two counts of grand larceny, complied with conditions, case dismissed.

Amber Marshall, Ararat, charged with failure to appear, sentenced to seven days in jail, assessed costs; charged with failure to appear, sentenced to two days in jail, assessed costs.
Betty Jean McArthur, Patrick Springs, charged with making threats by phone. Case dismissed.

John Wayne McArthur, Patrick Springs, charged with petit larceny, found not guilty.

Anthony Brian Mitchell, Martinsville, charged with grand larceny, convicted of petit larceny, sentenced to 12 months in jail, assessed $250 plus costs and restitution; charged with entering property with intent to interfere with property rights, sentenced to 12 months, suspended, assessed $250 and costs.

Anthony Joseph Mullins, Patrick Springs, charged with sale of a schedule I or II controlled substance, sentenced to 10 years, suspended, assessed $500 plus restitution and costs; charged with conspiracy to sell , sentenced to 12 months, suspended, assessed $500 plus costs; charged with sale of a schedule I or II controlled substance, nolle prossed on motion of the commonwealth’s attorney; charged with sale of a schedule I or II controlled substance, sentenced to 10 years, all suspended except two years and six months; assessed $500 plus costs and restitution.

Clifford Kenner Harris Nieto, Roxboro, N.C., charged with two counts of forging a public record, two counts of uttering a forged record, nolle prossed on motion of the commonwealth’s attorney.

Marvin Dustin Repass, Ararat, charged with child abuse/neglect and child endangerment; found not guilty.

James Anthony Smith, Patrick Springs, charged with obtaining money under false pretense, sentenced to five years, all suspended except six months, assessed costs.

Bruce Allen Spencer, Bassett, charged with prisoner possessing a weapon, found not guilty.

Thomas William Taylor, Patrick Springs, charged with probation violation; court revoked 20 days, assessed costs.

Jerry Lee Walker, Stuart, charged with trespassing, sentenced to 12 months, all suspended except 30 days, assessed $250 and costs.

William Wesley Webb, Laurel Springs, N.C., charged with probation violation, court revoked 60 days, assessed costs.

Zachary Brian Willis, Mount Airy, N.C., charged with probation violation, court revoked 90 days, assessed costs.
