The following cases were adjudicated in Patrick County Circuit Court in April, according to court records.
April 4:
Victor Shaun Hawks, no address listed, was found guilty of a probation violation. All previously suspended time was revoked and re-suspended, except for 90 days. The sentence also included probation of three years and costs.
Laura Sutphin, of Stuart, was found guilty of a probation violation. All previously suspended time was revoked and re-suspended, except for 30 days. Sutphin also is subject to random drug screens, must see a probation officer weekly, successfully complete Piedmont Community Services program and pay costs.
Collin Russell, of Patrick Springs, was found guilty of a probation violation. All previously suspended time was revoked and re-suspended, except for 10 months; probation remains intact. Russell also must successfully complete District 22 In House Drug Program and pay costs.
April 9:
Joseph Harley Swisher, of Stuart, was found guilty of disorderly conduct and ordered to pay a fine of $200; six months in jail, all suspended; 12 months good behavior and costs.
Angela Dawn Stump, of Bassett, was found guilty of three counts of bad check. Stump was sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended; ordered to pay a fine of $100, and costs on one count. On each of the remaining counts, she was sentenced to serve 12 months in jail; pay a fine of $100; costs; five years probation and make restitution of $996.50.
Cassie Perdue, of Meadows of Dan, was found guilty of shoplifting and sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended except for three months; three years probation; a fine of $200; successfully complete District 22 In House Drug program, make restitution and costs.
Ronald Young, of Henry, was found guilty of a probation violation. All previously suspended time was revoked and re-suspended, except for 15 days; probation extended three years to run concurrent with any other probation, and ordered to pay costs.
Tanya Nicole Helton, of Stuart, was found guilty of a probation violation. All previously suspended time was revoked and re-suspended, except one year and six months; probation for three years and costs.
April 11:
Mary Rader, of Patrick Springs, was found guilty of possess ammunition/Felon: Five years in the penitentiary all suspended; costs. Radar also was found guilty of unlawful wounding and sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended except 10 months; costs. Fail to appear and sentenced to 10 days in jail and costs. Radar also was ordered to make restitution of $237.87; five years probation; successfully complete District 22 In House Drug Treatment program; and successfully complete a 42 to 48 week program.
April 12:
Donald McNeely, of Collinsville, was found guilty of a probation violation. All previously suspended time was revoked and re-suspended; upon three years probation; random drug screens and costs.
Jeremy Joseph Morris, of Mount Airy, N.C. was found guilty of disorderly conduct, and sentenced to six months in jail, all suspended; two years good behavior; restitution of $60 and costs.
Charles Price, of Mount Airy, N.C., was found guilty of speeding and ordered to pay a fine of $60 and costs.
Allen Vaughn, of Mount Airy, N.C., was found guilty of speeding and ordered to pay a fine of $84 and costs.
April 23:
Sara Scott, of Stuart, was found guilty of shoplifting and sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended except for six months; $200 fine and costs. Scott also was found guilty of drive while revoked and/or drive under the influence and sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended; $200 fine; costs and probation of three years.
William Fain, of Patrick Springs, was found guilty of distribution of Schedule I or II controlled substance and sentenced to 20 years in the penitentiary, all suspended except for 11 months and 29 days; successfully complete 42 to 48 week program; Operator’s License was suspended for six months; $250 fine; five years probation concurrent with any other probation; restitution of $80 and costs.
Matthew R. Scott, of Patrick Springs, was found guilty of a probation violation. All previously suspended time was revoked and re-suspended, except for 30 days; probation was extended for five years; successfully complete District 22 In House Drug Treatment program and costs.
April 30:
Walter Trent, of Bassett, was found guilty of a probation violation. All previously suspended time revoked and re-suspended, except for 11 months and 29 days upon successful completion of 42 to 48 week program; five years probation and costs.
Kasey Blake, of Stuart, was found guilty of a probation violation. All previously suspended time was revoked and re-suspended, except for nine months; costs. Blake also was found guilty of assault and battery, and sentenced to 12 months in jail and costs; escape, and sentenced to five years in the penitentiary, all suspended except for six months and costs. Blake also was sentenced to five years probation concurrent with any other probation and ordered to have no contact with the victim.
Amber Allen, of Martinsville, was found guilty of a probation violation. Probation was extended for one year; costs.
Jessica Sparks, of Bassett, was found guilty of trespass and sentenced to 12 months in jail, with all suspended except for 10 days; $100 fine; costs; two years good behavior.
