According to Clerk of Court Susan Gasperini, the following cases were tried in Patrick County Circuit Court during September:
• Eric Lewis Griffith, Ararat, charged with larceny of firearm, sentenced to 10 years, suspended, assessed costs; charged with grand larceny, sentenced to 10 years, all suspended except five years and six months, assessed costs and restitution; charged with statutory burglary, sentenced to 10 years, all suspended, assessed costs and restitution; charged with probation violation, revoked all time, re-suspended conditionally, assessed costs.
• Michael Dean Adkins, Bassett, convicted of probation violation, court revoked five days of previously suspended sentence, assessed costs.
• Eric L. Baliles, Stuart, convicted of probation violation, court revoked 11 months of previously suspended sentence, assessed costs. • Jamie Thomas Clark, Stuart, convicted of probation violation, court revoked all time, re-suspended conditionally, assessed costs.
• Joey Allen Dalton Sr., Ararat, convicted of probation violation, court revoked nine months of previously suspended sentence, assessed costs.
• John Robert Dalton, Dugspur, convicted of probation violation, court revoked three months, assessed costs.
• David Wayne Gilley, Patrick Springs, charged with brandishing a firearm, found guilty of destruction of property, sentenced to 12 months, all conditionally suspended except 60 days, assessed costs and restitution; charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, found guilty of disorderly conduct, sentenced to 12 months, all suspended, assessed costs.
• Teddy Ray Goins, Stuart, charged with shoplifting, sentenced to two years, all suspended except four months, assessed costs and restitution; charged with trespassing, sentenced to 12 months, all conditionally suspended, assessed costs and restitution; charged with probation violation, court revoked four months, assessed costs.
• Andrew B. Hairston, Rocky Mount, charged with multiple worthless checks, found guilty of misdemeanor of bad check, sentenced to 12 months, all suspended except three days, assessed costs and restitution; charged with worthless check, found guilty of misdemeanor of bad check, sentenced to 12 months, suspended, assessed costs and restitution.
• Adam Lee Helton, Stuart, charged with probation violation, court revoked 10 days, assessed costs.
• Jack W.S. Hinds III, Stuart, charged with grand larceny, dismissed upon payment of restitution.
• Ray Anthony Hylton, Patrick Springs, charged with manufacture of marijuana, found guilty of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, sentenced to 12 months, all suspended except 10 days, assessed costs.
• William Edward Jurney, Claudville, charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, case dismissed.
• Darrell Wayne Martin, Patrick Springs, charged with illegal possession of a firearm, sentenced to five years, all suspended except one year and two months, costs assessed.
• John Henry McBride, Bassett, charged with robbery, found guilty of petit larceny, sentenced to 12 months, all suspended except 30 days, assessed costs and restitution; charged with malicious wounding, nolle prossed on motion of Commonwealth; charged with destroying property, found guilty of destruction of property, sentenced to 12 months, suspended, costs assessed.
• John Dewayne McPherson, Stuart, charged with DUI third offense, sentenced to five years, all suspended except six months, $1,000 fine and costs; operator’s license revoked indefinitely.
• Richard Allen Meeks, Ridgeway, charged with shoplifting third offense, all suspended except nine months, assessed costs and restitution.
• Catlin Joe Moncus, Claudville, charged with probation violation, dismissed.
• Rogelio Santiago Morales, Ararat, charged with probation violation, court revoked one year and six months, ordered to complete the Diversion Center Program, assessed costs.
• Robert Wade Payne, Stuart, charged with grand larceny, found guilty of petit larceny, sentenced to 12 months, all suspended except 90 days, assessed costs and restitution.
• Darius Ray Reed, Claudville, charged with probation violation, court revoked three months, assessed costs.
• Joshua Coy Reed, Stuart, charged with obtaining money under false pretense, sentenced to five years, all suspended except one year, assessed $500 fine and costs and restitution.
• William Edward Roberts, Stuart, charged with contempt of court, case dismissed.
• Jennifer Dillon Tilley, Stuart, charged with child abuse/neglect, sentenced to five years, conditionally suspended, charged $200 fine and costs; charged with child abuse/neglect, sentenced to 12 months, all suspended except 28 days, assessed $200 fine and costs.
