Firefighters battled a blaze at a Claudville home Sunday night into Monday, according to Steve Allen, coordinator of Patrick County Emergency Services.

Firefighters were summoned to 345 Pinecrest Lane, Claudville around 9:46 p.m. on Sunday and remained at the scene until around 12:30 a.m. Monday, according to Allen.

The home is owned by Phillip Morgan of West Virginia. No one was at home at the time of the blaze.

According to fire and rescue providers at the scene, a neighbor saw the blaze and summoned fire crews that included CCDF Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue, Stuart, Patrick Springs and Moorefield Store volunteer fire departments, as well as Allen’s office.

The Patrick County Sheriff Office is investigating the incident, Allen said.

A mobile home that housed the Meadows of Dan Insurance Agency Inc. at 5593 Jeb Stuart Highway, Meadows of Dan, was destroyed in a March 6 blaze, according to Allen and Mary Boyd, owner of the business.

Boyd said she currently is conducting business at 4561 Cherry Creek Road, Meadows of Dan. She anticipates it will be two weeks before the business is able to return to the location on Jeb Stuart Highway.
